Wesley J. P. Westphal II

Wesley is a Mississippi Chickasaw and presently works for the Air Force at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, as an Environmental Planner and Special Emphasis Program Manager for Native Americans for the 45th Space Wing. In this positon he conducts environmental reviews of all on-going and up-coming projects to determine the potential impact to the environment. As the SEPM for Native Americans, he provides assistance to management on special employment concerns of Native Americans and identifies problems and barriers to advancement and career development through analysis of the workforce to determine the effectiveness of management actions on the Native American workforce. He also conducts recruiting efforts, furnishes information about job opportunities, requirements, application procedures, educational opportunities, promotions, and procedures to current and prospective Native American employees. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a B.A. in Theatre, from Rollins College with a B.S. in Environmental Management, from Webster University with an M.A. in Management, and from the Air Force's Air University with an M.S. in Military Operational Art and Science. He is a Lifetime member of SAIGE and served on the By-laws Committee prior to the organization's first election. He has been a member of American Indian Science and Engineer Society (AISES) since 1989 and has served as a member of the AISES Government Relations Council since 1994.
